Digital, Social Media Literacy and Citizenship Education, Grades 5 -12
Enroll in CourseDigital Safety on the Internet and in Social Media and understanding the Virtual World we work and play in is imperative for students of the 21'st century. This course has 25 hours of instruction broken down by general grade level: 5-6.7-8.9-10,11-12. The course makes use of Internet sites and Social Media as resources and to reinforce safety principles. Topics range from augmented reality and coding to social platforms and spyware and center on responsible and safe use of our ability to connect with the word.
The course covers the requirements of the US 2012 CIPA Act for teaching Internet Safety and Digital Citizenship and current state requirements for teaching Social Media.

A background in education, software design and digital marketing morphed into working with schools and teams on their digital and social media education. Digital and Social Media open the world to our children but they also need to know the rules of navigating that world safely. That is what we've set out to teach.
